In this, the last Linux Reality episode: I bring back some old audio clips, fire up one last listener tip, play a bunch of audio comments, and then take a few minutes to say thanks. I mentioned the reasons for ending the show in Episode 96 but now I would like to say thank you, everybody, for a great ride. It's been a great two years. This site, the podcast feed and files, the forums, and the IRC channel will remain up and active for the forseeable future, and I'll still be around. In the meantime, keep on hackin'. http://www.linuxreality.com/podcast/episode-100-the-final-episode/

I've been awaiting this episode with a bittersweet feeling in my heart. Bittersweet because it's the cuilmination of such a wonderful podcast, and though I really don't want to see it go I do understand the reasons why. Because of this podcast, the LR community has grown like gangbusters and given it a reputation of friendly GNU/Linux users willing to help a newcomer since we were once at that point ourselves.
Thanks again, Chess, for everything you've done through this podcast. Here's to a healthy LR community for years to come.

Thanks Chess, I was looking forward every Wednesday for a new Linux reality posdcast to be posted. I can already say I will miss it. Your lessons were very useful and helped me to take my Linux knowledge from… childhood to… say… puberty.

I think we should all turn up at Chess's office, and sit at the door pining like lost puppies. But seriously, sad that it has to end but I hope you will pop up as a guest on other Linux / BSD / Open Source podcasts as and when it suits your schedule.

Hey Chess. I totally missed the window to send a voice clip (found a place to buy that time, yet? ), so I'll just say some words here. Thanks for this wonderful podcast. When I first tried Linux in 2003, I had no idea that it would be what it was now. When I tried Ubuntu for the first time in 2005, I had no idea that I'd eventually be so taken by it that I would be even considering replacing Windows completely, let alone doing it. Your podcast really opened up this world to me. Before, Linux was just a novelty, a toy I played with in my spare time. Listening to your show and following along in an install, I began to realize how far Linux has come. It's VERY cool to pop in my old Mandrake 9.1 CD's into a virtual machine and compare them to Linux as we know it now. What's also interesting to think about, is I've been using the exact same version of Windows all that time, only for the next version to finally come out and be.... well, we don't need to mention THAT thing. Anyway, thanks for the great podcast. Without it, I might have missed out on SO much of this great software. Sadly, being in tech support, I'll probably never be able to rid myself of Windows entirely, but it's good to know that when I come home at the end of the day, something that really does work and something that really is mine is waiting. Thank you.

Thanks for the listening enjoyment and the many things learned, Chess. I'm really happy that this idea of yours took off so fantastically. I'm amazed at how you came up with 100 valuable things to talk about with the help of some great contributions from outside and the most interesting interviews.
This last podcast was awesome to hear the folks who have received from you. And that was really only a drop in the bucket, but I think it well represented what you have given to us.
See you around.

Hey Chess, it's sad to see you go. Your show has been an incredible inspiration to me. I've been a faithful listener for a long time and every episode has taught me something new. The greatest thing about your show is that you always seem to read my mind. For example, just recently I was thinking that I wanted to learn shell scripting and was interested in finding out some info on it, and then the next day I downloaded your episode on shell scripting. I was also inspired to try out some other distros after listening to some of your episodes. I gave Arch and Slackware a shot and enjoyed both of them (though my main distro of choice is Ubuntu). But I have to say that your show gave me courage to try them out and see something new. And the best part is that you explain everything in a way that average people can understand it, but can also still be enjoyed by someone even with a great deal of technical experience.
I wanna wish you good luck and nothing but the best to you and your family. You will definitely be missed.

Chess: This website from both the podcasts and the forum have given me so much pleasure. Not only to learn more about linux, but the chance to chew the fat so to speak. I would like to thank you Chess for the wonderful year or so being so good to us with your time and hard work. I would also like to thank your better half and family also for allowing us to share you. Best wishes and thank goodness you will still be around for a while. Buono fortuna! thanx, Davi

Thank you so much for this podcast we all know you had fun making it! These 100 conversations could only have been made better over a couple of pints of your favorite beer at the local watering hole Good luck in you future endeavors, - Derek
