Hey, Chess. It looks like the same thing is happening again with iTunes. This episode doesn't show up in the iTunes podcast subscription. The last time it happened was with the last episode on Backup Servers (Episode 63). After I had written here in the forum under that episode's thread and saw that it still wasn't resolved, I used the podcast directory to comment about the issue and the following day it was there. Could it be something with the podcast feed in the iTunes Podcast Directory? Here's a link to the screenshot I took of the Linux Reality podcast feed in iTunes (as of 11:45 PM EDT, 5/30/2007): http://farm1.static.flickr.com/217/522666620_fefe4e2efa_o.jpgThanks.

Thanks, Claudio. I don't know why that keeps happening. I'll see what I can figure out.

Hi Chess I thought you were going to do FTP servers since is one of the most used protocols besides HTTP. I also think that is one of the most obviquos file transfer on a network (even more than SMB/Samba).

I had considered doing one on FTP servers, but ultimately decided that it was good time to wrap up the discussion and move on to some other topics people were asking me about. I did not want the podcast to become "Server Reality"! :-)

Thank you for moving on. I haven't had any need to listen to the recent pod casts b/c I only have 1 computer. Some day, when my home office is going strong & I need to know how to get things working right, I'll listen to these podcasts, but I have been waiting because I like to try the things I hear on the podcast as they are being described.

Thanks Chess for mentioning the NSLU2. When you first mentioned it, i was looking for a device like this for a long time. I wanted something without too many moving parts and fans (and other stuff that can easily break) and something that doesn't consume much power. This seems the perfect box for that. I have ordered one and i am now waiting for it to arrive. I already know for sure that i' m going to have a lot of fun with it.
Thanks

Thanks Chess. I noticed that the latest episode was available on the feed from iTunes when I came home for lunch. Were you able to find out what the problem was to prevent it from happening again? And although I did enjoy the Home Servers series, I can understand why some might not have found this useful. Maybe sometime in the future you could cover FTP (as mentioned by jza) and maybe even something like game servers for some of the open source games out there. Thanks again!
