Hi Chess, Long time listener first time poster. I caught onto your show around episode 21 or so, and have been listening weekly ever since. Like others have said, your approach is welcoming to both newbies and experienced linux users, and I really appreciate all the hard work you're doing to post the show each week. I had a quick question: You mention a linksys "slug" in this podcast, and i was wondering what exaclty that is...like if you had a product number or something? THanks so much,
Jay

Yep, it's the Linksys NSLU2. Great little device. Here is the NSLU2 Linux project page: http://www.nslu2-linux.org/I've got Debian Etch installed on this thing and it's fantastic.

Chris - are you running debian from flash or a usb disk ? Having a disk for dns & dhcp server seems overkill and would like to install onto flash but can't find direction how to.

I was just listening to this episode as I walked to lunch, and it caught my attention that you mentioned only a couple of editors, wysiwyg or otherwise, for editing web pages, so let me add a couple more...
One I've used in the past is Quanta -- this is a KDE/qt-based web editor, and fairly extensive. (I don't know how it compares to dreamweaver -- I've never used it. Actually, now that I think of it, I don't think I've used any windows-based web editors -- well, no, I take that back -- way back when the web was new I did use Frontpage --once-- for something...)
Another possibility is OpenOffice -- write the "pages" in the word processor or "impress" [presentation software] and "export" as HTML.

Thanks to StarMan, I just remembered what I wanted to comment about regarding the podcast. Chess, you mentioned Nvu (pronounced "enview") as a solution for a WYSIWYG HTML editor but that it was getting a bit long in the tooth since it hadn't been updated since version 1.0 was released in 2005. There is an unofficial port of Nvu called Kompozer that adds some needed bug fixes and features to Nvu. In fact, the Nvu developers have told users that if they need the features that are available in Kompozer to use it. I've used it so far and it's worked fine for me....no problems yet.

Hi Chess, Just trying to catch up with podcasts... Here is a question for you: How to check progress of DNSMASQ? By progress I mean: * for DHCP - leases * for DNS - quared pages or something Is where easy way to see status/progress? Could it be somewhere in a logs? If so could you give locations, please.
